Nernst equation and voltage?
The question states: Assuming your diluted solution was .1M use the nernst equation to calculate a new voltage for the diluted porous cup.
Nernst Equation: E = Eºcell - ((0.0592logQ)/n)
where E is the cell potential and Q is the reaction quotient and n is number of electrons transferred.
[size=medium]The Eºcell is equal to 1.108 V and n is 6 (given by lab data) but I'm confused as to how to get the reaction quotient Q if the

Balanced Equation Question
Hi All,
I have a question for a balanced equation that I am not certain about. It is the reaction of dichromate with ethanol to produce ethanal.
The unbalanced equation is as follows...
__H+ + __Cr2O7 +__C2H5OH :rarrow: __Cr3+ + __C2H4O + __H2O
I went ahead and balanced this equation as follows
10H+ + Cr2O7 +2C2H5OH :rarrow: 2Cr3+ + 2C2H4O + 7H2O

stoichiometric equation help
Hi there, I'm a new user and I study mechanical engineering. As part of my coursework I have been asked to solve a stoichiometric equation with regards to 80% methane and 20% ethane. I have tried doing it myself but can't seem to get it. The equation is as follows:
CH4+C2H6+(O2+3.76N2)
Thank you for your time

Write the equation for each organic salt?
For the following salts this is my thoughts on the equation. Am I doing this correctly?
C7H4ClNaO2 + HCl -> C7H5ClO2
C7H7NaO + HCl -> CH3C6H4(OH)
C6H13NH+ + NaOH -> C6H15N

Van’t Hoff equation and equilibrium concentration
Hello,
I got this assignment.
Normal air (0.78% N2, 0.21% O2) is held at 2000K long enough to reach chemical
equilibrium with NO and NO2. Assume that the only reactions involving NO and NO2 are:
1) N2 + O2 ::equil:: 2NO
2) NO + 0.5O2 ::equil:: NO2
The equilibrium constants obtained at 300K for the formation of NO and NO2 are:

Debye-Huckel Equation & Systematic Approach
I've been stuck on this problem. I just don't understand how to look at problems 2 and 3 at all. I do understand how to get the activity coefficients using the Debye Huckel equation in problem 1, but then it asks to get the Qsp (reaction quotient) for both formulas.
How would I go about finding the reaction quotient and doing problems 2 and 3? Thank you in advance

Maleic Anhydride Reaction Equation
We completed a lab in organic chemistry as follows:
Maleic anhydride in water with heat
Powder zinc added until most was dissolved
Finally HCL was added with additional heat.
We did a titration of NaOH and with that calculation I think we formed Succinic acid.
[size=medium]I have tried to figure out the balanced equation but I am not sure if the zinc plays an active role or is a catal
