Ka pKa-calculations
Hi everyone,
i have been given a assignment saying,
"Now that you know the concentrations of NH4, NH3 and H+, calculate the Ka and pKa of them."
I have 50 ml which consists of 10 ml 1m NaOh, 40 ml of water and 1 gram of NH4Cl.
pH is 9.5
my question is, do i use the formula "pH=pKa-log([NH_3 ]/[NH_4 ] )"?
[size=medium]My other question is, after i have mixed my 1 g

Am I Using the Correct Calculations? Thermochemistry Problem..
Is my thinking correct? Have I used the correct equations? Thank you
Question:
You wish to find the enthalpy of reaction per mole of nitric acid for the following reaction:
Mg (s) + 2HNO3 (aq) --> Mg(NO3)2 (aq) + H2 (g).
[size=medium]At 25 degrees C, you add 0.050 grams of magnesium flakes to a makeshift coffee-cup calorimeter (Ccal= 11 Joules/C) that contains 100.0 mL of 1.25M HNO3. You close the top a

Mole % Calculations
I will list everything that is given and set as (Given
[size=medium]So I measured a mass of compound A, lets say 15mg. And I measure a mass of compound B, lets say 6mg. (Given: concentration of each compound is 20mg/mL). Compound A is measured in excess. So using the mass, and the given concentration, I calculate the volume required for each compound(using the given concentration of 20mg/mL) and mix each compound into their required volumes to create 2 solutions. Input needed regarding calculations for moles and RMM of unknown monoacidic base
Hi, just had some work to do been going through it, and so far ive came up with the following answers. I have copied the whole file into the thread and formatted it, incase background information was needed.
My question is have I done the calculation correctly? Are there any big errors present which i have completely missed? All the figures and calculations in "bold" are the calculations i actually did. Thank You

Ignoring solids in concentration calculations
The solubility product constant FeS is 8 x 10-9. At a chemical equilibrium state, what is the concentration of S2- in the water nearby the sediments if Fe2+ concentration in water is 10 ^- 4 M.
S2- + Fe2+ => FeS
Kc=[FeS]/[S2-]*[Fe2+]
8*10^-9=1/[S2-]*10^-4 so [S2-] = 8*10^-13
[size=medium]My question is am i correct in assuming [FeS] is 1? or should i be leaving [Fes] out of the calculation altogether a

Should percent yield calculations involve purity?
Filling out a lab report for a product that was tested to be 96% pure. Should the weight of the product obtained be multiplied by the purity? Am I just overthinking this? Thanks!

Uncertainty calculations
Please *delete me* I have been repeatedly attempting to calculate the uncertainty for the average initial rate of my experiment (ml of oxygen produced per second). For my experiment, I have calculated the percentage uncertainty of each of my 3 trials by adding the percentage uncertainties of time and volume, but I have no idea how to use these results to calculate the percentage uncertainty for the average intial rate! Advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
